With the Pro App, you can now directly bulk updates of prices using a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This process is useful when you have a list of products and its price, compare price, or cost per item price you want to update and can be done using either an SKU, or product handle, or variant ID.
How does it work?
1. Go to Pro Dashboard -> Create a task ->Select Direct Edit with CSV.
2 .Upload a CSV file with either of the below data along with the other columns as Price, Compare Price, Cost Per item. The first row of the CSV should have one of the following headers and it is mandatory:
- handle
- SKU
- variant ID
3. Map the columns and click submit. Refer to the images below
4. Once done, click Next. The app will read the products according to the CSV file and show the count. If a certain SKU, handle, or variant ID is not found in your store, it will show as failed.
You can then review the failed list and correct it to match the same as you have on Shopify. Once done, you can re-upload it.
Note:
1. If Compare price, and Cost per item column/values is not added, the app will treat those values as empty and will update the same on Shopify.
2. If the Price column/values is not added, the app will not update the value and the price will be the same as on Shopify while executing the task.
3. Don't use special characters, symbols, or spaces, because these can cause problems when searching for products in Shopify by SKU and other computer programs, such as spreadsheet software. You can find the guidelines here.
